Microsoft Kinect: UK Launch Date Confirmed
The Microsoft Kinect UK’s launch date has been confirmed, the Kinect will go on sale on November 10th 2010.
The Kinect is the new controller-free, motion sensor game system that connects to the 360 console. It uses a camera to track the user’s movements on screen and unlike the Nintendo Wii, it is controller-free. Nintendo began the motion-sensor phenomenon 4 years ago with its Wii which has now sold more than 74 million consoles world-wide.
There will be more than 15 Kinect compatible games available when it launches in November; these include Kinect Sports, similar to that of Wii Sports, it involves throwing games and running. Sony are to release the Move system which is of a similar motion sensing technique, however does require the gamer to hold its Move controller. This will be released only weeks before the Kinect so it will be an exciting time for both PlayStation and Xbox fans alike.
The Kinect is expected to cost £129.99 and will include the launch title Kinect Adventures. Bundles packages will also be available combining the 360 console and Kinect. It is however important to note that the Kinect will work with both the 360 console and 360 Slim console recently launched.
