Sony Vaio Z Series: Reviewed

The Sony Vaio Z Series has been revealed. The Sony VAIO VPCZ11Z9E is able to integrate power, portability and usability, something which is not always present in other notebooks on the market. Often notebooks focus around either power or portability, yet the new Sony range is able to offer the complete package.

The new Vaio comes with an Intel Core i7-620M processor and 6GB of DDR3 RAM, the newest and fastest memory technology. The Vaio also has an nVidia GeForce GT 330M graphics card with 1GB for video memory, making it a real competitor to the MacBook Pro.

Weighing only 1.3kg, it’s a truly portable notebook, making your desktop system redundant. When you are not running your heavy duty applications, switching to the systems in-built GMA chip will ensure a longer battery life. Further spec details include:

  • Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution screen
  • LED Backlighting
  • TFT Screen Coating to reduce glare
  • 256GB Solid State Drive
  • WiFi N
  • 3 x USB
  • HDMI Out
  • SD/MS Card Slot

The Vaio is stylish, portable, and able to cater to a variety of needs making it a true all rounder within the notebook market. Although its steep price tag (£2,000) may act as a deterrent for some in the notebook market.
