All New PSP Go Details Revealed
Details of the new PSP Go have been revealed at the Sony official conference at E3 today. The conference and reveal comes just days after leaked images and videos were posted on the internet with claimed PSP Go details. Kaz Hirai, Sony’s president, laughed off the launch, stating the launch of the PSP Go has been “worst kept secret of E3”.
The new model will 43% lighter and 56% smaller than the original PSP-1000; boasting a 16GB of flash memory, allowing users to store thousands of songs, photos and games on their console. This can be further extended to 32GB through the use of a Memory Stick Micro flash card. The Go will also have a slide-out control pad, a first in the PSP collection and an integrated Bluetooth function. More excitingly, the new Go will include a Wi-Fi capability, meaning content can be readily downloaded to your console.
Unfortunately the Go will not have the traditional UMD slot, meaning older PSP games cannot be played on the new console; however the Go will still be sold alongside the light PSP 3000, which can be used with UMD games.
The GO will be available to buy from October 1st 2009, with an expected cost of around £150, providing a direct competitor to the popular Nintendo DS. The multifunctional media playback facility will also bring the PSP in line with the iPod touches of the industry and provide a cross between gaming and media.
Don’t forget the new PSP Go will be covered by Insure and Smile’s Gadget Insurance – giving you full piece of mind when using your new games console.
