In the last few days Sony Ericsson announced the new C510 Cybershot, the first mobile to include Smile Shutter™ technology.

Described as the most affordable Cyber-shot™ phone to date; the C510 Cyber-shot will be a new entry-level phone but packed with lots of goodies for camera phone fans everywhere.

The new C510 Cyber-shot promises a 3.2 mega pixel camera that uses a clever piece of technology called the Smile Shutter that automatically takes the photo when it detects your subject is smiling. How it does that, we don’t quite know - but it does mean you get perfect “smiley” pictures everytime you use it.

In addition to all of the great camera features the C510 is a very competent music player - supporting various file types with the option of expandable memory. Video recording and uploading to YouTube is also on-board - which will keep most owners very happy indeed.

Unfortunately, at this price Sony Ericsson couldn’t include Wi-Fi so instead mobile connectivity is covered by HSDPA mobile broadband.

The C510 Cybershot is expected for launch in March, with prices and network availability to be confirmed.
