HP EliteBook 6930p joins the 24-7 battery generation
Following the recent announcement by Dell of its E4200 laptop with a massive 19 hours of battery life, Hewlett-Packard have taken up the gaunlet and announced a new laptop that adds another 5 hours of laptop use between each charge.
The new developments show how much investment is being made by the major computer brands to deliver new levels of performance. The new HP EliteBook 6930p can be configured with an ultra-capacity battery to deliver “all-day computing”.
Weighing in at a respectable 4.7 pounds the HP 6930p features a 14.1-inch widescreen display with an optional mercury-free Illumi-Lite LED display. A spill resistant keyboard comes as standard and a inner magnesium shell equipped with a honeycomb pattern that is thermally bonded to anodized aluminum for a solid construction enables the Elitebook to reach the MIL-STD 810F military standard.
For the accident prone the laptop hosts a new feature called HP 3D Drive Guard which uses three accelerometers to sense if the PC is dropped and secures the hard drive. Acting like a cars seat belt the hard drive is held firmly in place whilst the notebook frame takes the brunt of the impact.
With a special operating system that boots up within 10 seconds to read email and run other applications – this really is one notebook for the busy user always on the go.
The HP Elitebook 6930p sets a new milestone in notebook battery life for just under £900.
