Apple iPhone 3g breaks it own sales forecast

It looks like Apple have set a new record with the sale of more than one million 3giPhones in the first weekend.

Apple lovers around the world have been out in record numbers buying the new gadget.
It looks like Steve Jobs got his sales forecast wrong as he originally estimated selling 10 million in the first year.

“iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend, it took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world”, Steve Jobs was quoted as saying in regards to the news.

The new iPhone has gone on sale in 21 countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, France and the US.

Apple also announced the surprising figures surrounding the new App store (where you can enhance your iPhone by downloading new applications). Apps recorded more than 10 million downloads since opening midday last Thursday.

If you are looking for new applications or the latest pinball game there are currently more than 800 applications available in the store, with 200 of them available free of charge.
